Three years ago, I dropped a key down the basement stairs in my home. There's nothing at the bottom of those stairs, but for an open floor and some minor furnishings. There aren't any cracks in the floor. No mouse holes adorn the wall. There's simply no place where any such object could possibly hide from a search of more than one minute's duration.
Nevertheless, to this very day, that key remains unfound. From time to time I'll renew my search as an exercise in curiosity. Yet that key no lo...
